Professional Experience
Scott Peters has devoted his legal career to public service, serving as a Pierce County Deputy Prosecuting Attorney since October 2004. Throughout his tenure, he has tried cases in almost every department and served in various leadership roles within the office.
Scott's experience extends across multiple specialized units, including the Juvenile Division, Misdemeanor Unit, Burglary Unit, Felony Drug Unit, High Priority Offender Unit, and Special Assault Unit. He has overseen new attorneys and conducted training and CLEs. Additionally, he has taken on leadership roles as the DUI Supervisor, and Team Chief of the Property Crimes Unit, Identity Theft Unit, Animal Cruelty Unit, and the High Priority Offender Unit, where he supervised teams of attorneys and support staff, ensuring effective prosecution of complex cases.
He also serves as a Pro Tem Municipal Court Judge, covering hearings and conflict cases and handling various court proceedings.
Community Service
Beyond the courtroom, Scott is deeply committed to community service. Scott believes in fostering strong connections with the community, conducting numerous trainings for other departments and organizations, and participating in initiatives to increase technology and efficiency with the Superior Court and Department of Assigned Council.
In addition to his legal work, Scott is a Board Member of Lawyers Helping Hungry Children and has volunteered with Relay for Life and other community organizations.
